The article at this link from the May 11, 1882 Daily Astorian has a good article about the settlement of the Volga Germans into Oregon. My favorite quote from it says: "They prefer the life of the bee, reporting daily to a populous hive, to that of a solitary hawk, which cares only for its own nest." I love what that says about the people of my heritage.
I've inherited family photo collections from my grandparents, my parents and a few cousins, for which I'm very grateful. They include photos from the late 1800s to the present. Since then I've scanned thousands of photos with my Flip Pal portable scanner. I love using it. If you want to learn more about the Flip Pal, click the photo at left.
My favorite Bible verse is from Romans 8:28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose."
Another favorite is Phillippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me".
And my personal prayer as I start each day is "Lord, remind me that nothing is going to happen to me today that you and I together can't handle."
One of my favorite apps is Trello. You can find it by clicking on the link above, which is right below the photo of my Trello board. It's an organizational tool for me. I've created Trello boards for genealogy, to keep track of things in my life, and to organize resources on different topics. You can watch a demo of Trello here on YouTube. Please contact me if you'd like more information about my Trello boards and how I use them effectively.
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This video explains very simply and briefly what the Book of Mormon is and why we believe it. https://youtu.be/nyV61Hh9KdA
