In 2006, a friend of Dad's was contacted by Harold J. Rutherford who explained that he was writing a book about "Life on the Great Plains in the 1920's, 30's and 40's". It was to be a "Collection of personal accounts from the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression". Dad's friend recommend to Mr. Rutherford that he also include Dad's personal story in his forthcoming book.
